About Us
We are a family business started in 1997. We only breed cockapoos and we have spent the past 25+ years working on breeding the best cockapoos possible, continuously improving, using our experience and knowledge as well as new information and technology as it becomes available. All of our puppies and parent dogs are raised here at our home. Our parent dogs have indoor/ outdoor access with doggy doors that go out to our large yards. We retire our parent dogs from breeding around age five so they can be placed in their forever homes while they are still young.
When our puppies are born, they stay with their mom in a customized bed made specifically for the mom and the litter where they will stay for the first couple of weeks before they become more active. Once they are old enough to be handled, they start to get daily socialization to get them comfortable with people and affection early on. They are socialized with people of all ages including young children and are also socialized with other dogs. They receive group and individual socialization time. Once the are old enough, they start outdoor socialization, playtime, and potty training. This continues until they go to their new homes.

Health Care given to our COCKAPOO PUPPIES.
Our COCKAPOO PUPPIES medical health care starts at 3 weeks of age, at this time they are dewormed as a prevention of round worms, hook worms, and other parasites transmitted to the pups from their mom. This is continued every 10 days up to the time the pup leaves to it's new home. At 4-1/2, 6, and 7-1/2 weeks of age they are treated topically for prevention of ear mites and other microscopic skin parasites.
Vaccines, of course, are the most important medical care for a pup as this prevents the pup from acquiring the viral/bacterial infections that are life threatening to the pup, especially Parvo virus which is common throughout the United States. The puppies receive a Bordetella nasal vaccine at 8 weeks of age to prevent kennel cough and this vaccination is good for one year. At 8 weeks of age, they also receive their first puppy vaccine which is a DAPP. This contains a high titer Parvo vaccine that assures a started immunity to Parvo before leaving to their new home. The pups should have at least two follow up DAPP booster vaccines, one at 12 weeks of age and one at 16 weeks of age. A DHLPP which contains a Leptospira vaccine should be discussed with your vet whether to be given or not and at what age. Leptospira is a deadly bacteria that has now become quite common in some areas and needs to be part of the health care of the pup if it is prevalent in your area. We suggest only one vaccination of this per year as a second vaccine given too close in time to the first can cause serious side effects such as convulsions. The first Rabies vaccine can be given after 3 or4 months of age depending on your state regulations, ask your vet on this.
Now that we have covered the life threatening parasites, viruses, etc. that we guarantee your pup will not have when he or she arrives, let us explain the other problem, parasites. Quite common and harder to avoid, the two main parasites that are just about everywhere outdoors are Coccidiosis and Giardia. Any animal of any kind are constantly exposed to these parasites. A healthy adult animal will pass these parasites on as their immune system eliminates them from the body but a puppy has not developed it's immune system fully and sometimes needs help if exposed and it is easily treated with medication. These parasites are also covered in our guarantee. At about 8 weeks of age all pups are treated with a preventative against these parasites. Although these are difficult to guarantee against, our guarantee provides coverage for the cost of the medication if it is needed.

Food & Nourishment
Most important for a puppy's growth and health is proper diet. I can not emphasize this enough. Poor diet means poor health and can even cause death. Proper diet means a healthy, happy dog. Things to know: protein ratings in puppy & dog food are misleading, high rated protein foods with mostly grain protein not only do little good for your pet but can also cause harm to it. Dogs thrive only on meat protein, this is their life line. Make sure your pet has a food with highly digestible meat protein, chicken being the most nutritious. No corn, wheat, or soy as these do little good and can actually cause harm.
When buying your pet's food always look at the ingredients, they are in order of what is mostly in the food. A food that starts with chicken has mostly chicken in it. A food starting with corn has mostly corn in it and should be avoided for your puppy and adult pet. There are two factors in poor protein - 1. A highly undigestible protein such as corn can cause the kidneys to overwork trying to digest protein that it can not which can cause permanent kidney damage - 2. A food with low protein of any kind can literally starve your pet and cause massive organ failure including the heart, respiratory, liver, kidneys, and others causing death to your loving pet.
Remember, never short change your pet's diet. You and your pet will pay for it down the road. There are no high or low protein illnesses, diseases, genetic issues but only diet. Do not be the one to cause your pet's protein health problems. Just a good quality food will prevent this. I suggest 32% min. high meat protein & 22% min. fat for a puppy, 26% min. high meat protein and 18 min. fat for an adult. I also suggest chicken be the first & main ingredient.
